Getting rid of HTC Car Panel (Working Solution)==2012++here

I have been using Desire car dock for some time. At some point new roms started to come with HTC car panel which was driving me nuts. It really slows down the system, initiates when docked but does not turn of when undocked etc...

I wanted to totally get rid of HTC Car Panel, locations etc. So if you use Locations be cautious that it will also be disabled.

This is a summary of what has worked for me:

The phone should be rooted for this procedure.

Open an ADB root shell (# prompt), execute the following commands from a root command prompt:

pm disable com.htc.laputa.trip.TripWidget
pm disable com.htc.laputa
pm disable com.htc.laputa.HtcLaputaInstaller

Reboot your phone (just type reboot from a command prompt)

You should find "Locations" is no longer in the application menu

You should find if you select a contact with an address, and click "View address", it loads Google Navigation

For calendar invites, clicking View address should also load Google Navigation
